On November 11, 2023, Veteran’s Day, the Yolo County Chapter of Pheasants Forever was honored to host a Veterans and First Responders Pheasant Hunt at Raahauge’s Hunt Club. There were 34 veterans and first responders in attendance along with 14 skilled dog handlers and their four legged hunting companions, who helped them make lasting memories for the day. They were also treated to a BBQ rib lunch and a raffle with numerous prizes.

Each year, we dedicate this hunt to one of our veteran hunters who is no longer with us. This year, we dedicated the hunt to Ken Henderson, who would come out to these hunts and participate and pay for the participants' registration fees. He also purchased the flag pole that is now used daily at Raahauge’s Hunt Club. A certificate was presented to his son-in-law, Kevin Goodner, in appreciation of Mr. Henderson’s dedication to our veterans' hunt program.
